How to Remove Chucking From Fifth Wheel Trailer with Reese Revolution Pin Box

Question:

need a solution to the bouncing and chucking of 5th wheel.My trailer is a 2013 flagstaff signature ultra or super light it currently has a Reese 10K Revolution Part# VHD-10K22SW . Towing with 2008 titan crew cab 7 Ft bed with air bag helpers . Truck tows trailer with no problems.

Typically it's the fifth wheel hitch that is responsible for chucking and bouncing. A looser fitting jaw to the king pin of the pin box is the number one reason for chucking.

You didn't mention what hitch you have, but for a hitch with an excellent jaw design The B and W Patriot part # BWRVK3200 would be a great option. Then for a wedge to fit the hitch to your Reese Revolution the # SWW-06 would be the correct product.

I have 2012 rockwood with a 10” wide vhd-10k22sw king pin box Is there brackets to get to a 12” king pin box What’s the deal with this Reese revolution pin box Trail run or what. Please any input is appreciated

@RobP We don't have any options for a 10 inch wide pin box like what you have. The Reese Revolution is a pivoting style pin box designed to provide additional turning clearance for short bed trucks. Are you not a fan of it?

@JamesonC It’s seized up and not straight a little on a angle I wanted to up grade to a gooseneck There is no conversion type of brackets so I can use a 12” pin box

@RobertP Is there any way to take the pin box apart and get it cleaned up so that it can work again? Unfortunately that pin box you have is a one-off Forest River only pin box that was so limited none of the manufacturers made a replacement for it. Otherwise you could have the wings cut off and have new ones welded to the RV frame.
