Question:
I have a 2006 Ford F350 with a suspension lift 6.5 foot short bed. I am looking at buying a Crusader 5th wheel weighing 12,100 dry. My question is what 5th wheel hitch do you recommend? I cant get an answer from RV store. Bed floor is 42 inch from ground and bed rails are 62 inch from ground.

I recommend going with the Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit # RP50082-58 and the Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16536. This has a height range of 15-1/4" - 18" so you need to make sure that it clears your bed rails and still allows you to tow your trailer level.
You will need to a sliding 5th wheel hitch so that you have turning clearance for your short bed. Next you need to make sure that it has a height setting that will allow your trailer to tow level. The only way to ensure this is for you to measure from the ground to the bed of your truck (which is 42") and then from the ground to the king pin. The sliding 5th wheel hitch that has a height range within a few inches of that difference is what you need.
The catch is that you also need to have at least 5" - 6" of clearance between your trailer and the top of your bed rails, and the lowest setting of a sliding 5th wheel hitch cannot be used.
