Question:
I have a 2000lb axle for my trailer, the springs are set at 70inch on center. What is the recommended wheel/tire size?

There is not a specific tire/wheel size that is recommended for your trailer, although you are likely limited to a maximum 12 inch wheel size with the hubs for its 2,000 pound axle.
I recommend taking a look at the tire size you currently have mounted, which will be located on the sidewall of the tire itself. If there are no tires or wheels present, you can also look for a sticker or plate somewhere on the trailer that might indicate the recommended tire size. Otherwise, you will just need to make sure that the combined load capacity of the tires you choose match or exceed the loaded weight of the trailer. You will also need to determine the bolt pattern of your hubs so that the new wheels will be compatible. If you do not know this, I have attached a great article that explains how to measure your bolt pattern.
For example, the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12 Inch White Spoke Wheel # AM31199DX features a maximum load capacity of 1,220 pounds at 65 psi. The wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the tire has an overall diameter of 21.3 inches.
I have attached a few additional articles on trailer tires and wheels that you might also find helpful. If you are able to tell me the size of your current tires, I will be happy to make a more specific recommendation.
