Question:
I have a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 high country dually 8ft bed that has the factory installed gooseneck hitch. I want to use my BandW 5th turnover Companion hitch that I used in my 2006 Silverado 3500. I know that I wont be able to use the factory installed gooseneck hitch and need to uninstall that and purchase and install the BandW Turnover gooseneck hitch for my 2018 to use my current hitch. Question is, will the BandW Turnover gooseneck hitch line up with the hole in the bed used for the factory gooseneck hitch?

If your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 features the factory gooseneck/5th wheel rail kit puck system, I may have a much easier solution that will still allow you to use your existing B&W Companion. Instead of removing the factory system and installing a completely new gooseneck hitch, I recommend simply replacing the base on your current Companion. To do this, you will just need the Replacement Base # BWRVB3700, which is confirmed to fit the factory pucks (the 4 pucks that are located around the center gooseneck hole) on your Silverado's truck bed. This will allow you to retain the use of your Companion's head unit and will be a more cost-effective and less time-consuming solution.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this replacement base that you can also check out.
If you do still decide to remove the factory system and install the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016, the 4 inch hole location will be 49-1/2 inches from the rear of the truck bed. You can compare this to the existing gooseneck hole on your truck to see if it lines up.
