Question:
I have a 2025 Chevy HD ZR2 with the prep packagepuck system. I know most recommend a slider with the short bed, but Im not a fan of moving parts and the Chevy isnt a typical short bed. A lot of people say I can easily run it with a non slider for a 2019 FR Sandstorm. It looks like it has the angles cut out to maximize turning. Do you think Im good with a non slider?

Hey Steve, congrats on the new truck! I don't have a yes or no answer for you but I can help you make your decision. It's definitely recommended to use a sliding hitch with a short bed truck like your 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500. There's some math you'll want to do before you decide which hitch to go with.
You'll first measure from the center of the hitch jaw location, directly above the center of the pucks, forward to the back of the truck cab and then you'll want to measure the width of the trailer nose.
Using the formula: (A+B)-C= Clearance
A= distance from center of hitch jaws to cab
B= sliding hitch movement (in this case it's 0")
C= width of trailer nose divided by 2 (so 1/2 the width)
As long as this number is +4 or greater, you'll have the clearance you're needing and can use a fixed hitch like the 20K B&W Companion OEM item # BWRVK3710. If you get anything smaller than 4 then you'll want to go with the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3775.
Let me know what dimensions you get if you have any other questions where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Thanks for the information. The distance from the back of the cab to the center of the pucks is 3'8"(44") and the width of the trailer is about 102", it also has curved notches to allow for more room to tow. What do you think?
