Will B&W Companion Slider Head Unit From 2019 Chevy Fit A Non Slider Base For A 2025 Chevy?

Question:

I have a bandw slider for 2019 Chev. Will the head on that hitch fit a non slider base for 2025 Chev?

Hello Dennis, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it sure will! All of the B&W Companion hitches both slider and non-slider use the same head unit. So, you can grab a new base for your 2025 Chevy and re use the head unit from your old hitch.

We have both a 20K and 25K base for the 2025 Chevy, so I'd just double check your trailer weight and choose from the following:

- Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC - 20,000 lbs # BWRVB3710

- Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC - 25,000 lbs # BWRVB3715

I imagine the 20K base will be sufficient, but just to be sure, what camper are you hauling?

@DennisB Nice! Yes the 20K base # BWRVB3710 will be more than enough for that.

The 3710 base is great because of the small footprint in your bed compared to most hitches, is light enough to pull the head off and remove in two pieces. I have a hoist in my shop that I remove hitch as is and put on a dolly I made. Best of luck with your decision.

Hello Denise, I purchased the base April 2024. I would recommend the base I have a 2024 SIERRA 2500 HD AT4 short bed. I was replacing my old companion 18k base non slider. The new base non slider is lighter, easier to install and take off. It also smaller footprint. I pull a 2022 Grand Design Reflection 35ft. Since replacing the base we have pulled it to every corner of New Mexico and Colorado with no issues. Hope this helps on your decision for a new base. Good Luck and enjoy.
