Question:
I am looking to replace the 235-80-16 wheels/tires on my 25’ 7ton gooseneck. I am currently running a load range E and they do not hold up. Was thinking about going to a load range H for more durability and reliability. Is there 16” or would I need to go to a 17.5”? Just wondering what would be the best option for a bolt on replacement. Thanks

For load rang H tires we only have those in the 17-1/2 inch size. If there is room enough above the tires you have now to go to the taller size then you certainly could as long as you have an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. The tires and wheels in this size all have an offset with the exception of # LHAS701 which has a zero offset. That means the mounting surface is at the dead center of the wheel. A positive offset moves the tire closer to the trailer and negative moves it further away so you have to be careful if you go to this size.
Another possible option is to go to 285/85-16 tires in load range G such as # TTWPRG235R16. It is rated for 4,400 pounds at 110 psi. Keep in mind that trailer tires should be inflated to the max psi indicated on the tire.
