Question:

For your replacement hubs, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. The nice thing about 3500 lb axles are that the spindles are a standard so there isn't the measuring required in most cases. If you want to be sure of your fit, you can use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to measure your spindles. I've attached an article to assist. Then for your brake assemblies, I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-35-SA. This will give you the brake assemblies needed that are compatible with your hub/drum assemblies. If you do not already have a brake controller, you will also need one to make your trailer brakes work. I recommend the proportional controllers for most trailers and the Prodigy P3 # 90195 is by far one of the customer favorites. I've attached a video to assist. Then for your brake wiring, I recommend 10 gauge wire # 10-2-1 and then the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # 277-000141. This will allow you to add the trailer brakes easily using ring terminals # 44-5310A.

On trailers over 3,000 lbs, many states do require a breakaway kit but not all. You can check with your local DMV, but it is a good idea to have one. I recommend the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger - Side Load # 20099. This is a very easy to install and reliable system. I've attached videos to assist.
