Question:
Can the cable be shortened to fit a small trailer?

The overall length of the cable included with the Titan Breakaway and Parking Kit for Drum Brakes # T2385200 is a bit over 15-feet (183-inches). Half of this length will be on each side of the trailer.
My contact at Titan confirmed that the cable cannot be cut but that there is 2-1/2-inches of adjustment possible by rotating the threaded u-shaped yoke at the center of the main cable. This yoke is shown in the photo I linked for you. This will shorten both sides of the long cable by the same 2-1/2-inches.
