Question:
I have an older equalizer hitch 10K that fits a 2 Reese hitch. I recently bought a newer truck with a 2.5 Reese hitch. Can I add a 2 to 2.5 adapter in my tube and still utilize the 2in equalizer? My camper is ~6K loaded so Im within the rating of both hitches.

Yes, you can use a 2-1/2" to 2" trailer hitch sleeve adapter with a weight distribution system. I recommend the Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve part # e33YR which has a 3" to 2-1/2" and a 2-1/2" to 2" for this. The other option which is not as cost effective as the above is a larger shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4700 but the benefit of this is that it won't have as much play.
