Question:
Are there any hitches out there that have a dual receiver that would allow a bike rack to be installed in front of the trailer receiver. And also I see that torklift has a receiver that has a reinforced pin slot. Does any one else manufacture this type of product. My factory hitch has already produced some egging of the pin hole.

For your 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 with 6-1/2-foot bed we do have a dual-receiver hitch option from TorkLift, part # TLC1204, which has two 2-inch receiver openings. This allows use of a hitch-mount carrier, such as a bike rack, while towing. The Sierra's factory hitch needs to be removed to install the TorkLift. TorkLift makes the only dual hitch we currently offer for your truck and as you noted it features excellent build quality including reinforced pin holes.
Another option is to install a front-mount hitch to let you carry your bikes in front. Draw-Tite 2-inch front hitch # 65028 installs without drilling and offers a 500-lb vertical load rating, plenty for any bike rack or for a hitch-mount cargo carrier like # C18151. Another benefit of a front-mount htch is the ability to use a hitch-mount type snow plow like Detail K2 Rampage II # K2RAMP8219.
Another bike carrier option for towing applications is the towing type of bike rack. The linked page displays many such 2, 3 and 4-bike carriers.
