Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Mounting Dimensions and Opening

Question:
Jason did a great job responding to my questions about the Skybox 12. I am now forcusing on the Skybox 16. The box exterior is 35” wide. My BMW X3 Yakima aero bars are 50” wide, but only 35” between the inside of the piers. Will the tie down clamps extending from below the box fit on the cross bars inside of 35”? I assume all info Jason provided re the opening of the 12 cf box also apply to the 16cf box except the width distance between the inside of the mounting tracks. What is that distance? Thanks again for the great service.

The Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Carbonite # Y95AV has crossbars that are adjustable from 24-36 inches on center for your crossbar spread. The maximum crossbar dimensions are 3-1/2" wide x 1-11/16" tall. This cargo box can accommodate skis up to 175 cm. The size of this box is 75-1/2" long x 35" wide x 16" tall.
