Question:

Hello I have a 1991 2wd f150 that I have restored. I want to flat tow it but all I can find is the road master fixed arms that extend out and are none removable. I really do not want to install something I cannot remove as this will only be towed a handful of time per year. Is there anything else?

Since the only confirmed base plate kit that we offer for your 1991 Ford F-150 is the Roadmaster Classic Base Plate Kit # 414-1 has fixed arms, there really isn't anything else that can safely be used to flat tow your F-150.

Keep in mind that you will also need a tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and most likely a high-low adapter.

The Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 will work great for towing your F-150 and are rated for 6,000 lbs.

If you are trying to avoid permanently installing flat towing products on your F-150 then you will want to use magnetic towing lights like the Hopkins # C6304.

For a supplemental braking system that can easily be removed (and transferred to other vehicles) you will want to use the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that presses the brake pedal on your F-150 at the same time and with the same intensity as the brake pedal in your motorhome is pressed.
