Will XL Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin Work on a 2 Inch Hitch?

Question:
I purchased item #63232 for 2” receivers and it works great on my Lincoln to pull my Triton snowmobile trailer. My question is whether or not this XL will work as well with a 2” receiver. I understand fully that this XL model is for 2-1/2 inch receiver’s but I like this version better because of the straight on barrel lock with the rounded key. The model that I received with the regular key I feel like still has the ability for somebody to potentially pick the lock whereas the XL model with the rounded type key would seem to be much harder to steal . Is this XL model an option for me or would it be too big and not do what it’s meant to do? Product #63232 works great , I would just prefer the different type key for more security . Thanks for your help!

The # SHP2040-XL can be used on a 2" hitch; in fact the linked demonstration video shows it being used in a 2" hitch though it should be noted that it has an overall length of 6-3/4" and an inside pin length nearly 1 inch longer than the # 63232 so it will stick out on the side of your hitch like in the attached photo. It is also recommended you use Loctite Anti-Seize Stick # LT37616 to lubricate the threads before use.
I have added a pair of reviews on this hitch lock for you to take a look at as well.
