Which adapter bar has the highest weight capacity?

The title of adapter bar with the greatest weight capacity goes to the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar Item # Y02531. It is rated for 1 bike at 45 pounds.

If you have an electric bike it will probably weigh more than 45 pounds. But if the battery is removed from the bike then it could get below 45 pounds. The other problem is that most hanging bike racks are not rated for 45 pounds.

The solution is to use a bike rack that has a higher capacity and that will accept E-bikes without the need of an adapter such as the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider # HLY84FR which has an 80 pound per bike capacity.

The T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV for 2-bikes or the #TH69TX for 4-bike are each rated for 60 pounds per bike. The Saris Freedom # SA4412B is also rated for 60 pounds per bike.
