Hi There, This set up used to work fine then all of a sudden just get a digital reading that looks like a U. non of the adjustments effect this. It is the same trailer connected or not. Help. Thanks,

Thank you for the photo of the display on your Curt TriFlex trailer brake controller # C24VV that shows what looks like a letter U. There is no such actual letter U among the various operating and troubleshooting codes so I think potentially what may have happened is that part of the display has failed, and it is no longer showing the entire code.
The nearest codes to what your unit shows are L.1., which indicates the unit's selected sensitivity level; and L.b., which indicates that the battery in the tow vehicle has a low voltage condition.
I suggest you disconnect the unit and let it sit without power for a good while, say 30-minutes or so. Then reconnect it and see if you can follow the normal setup routine that is outlined in the linked instructions. You can also test the blue output wire with a signal tester like # PTW2993 for a signal while you press the manual override lever. If you cannot detect an output signal at all then the unit should be replaced. I suggest the Prodigy P2 # 90885 which has been proven to be very reliable.
