Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the UWS rod connector. This rod connector is going to connect your toolbox latch handle to the rod inside the toolbox that operates that latch. It will work with any UWS box with two handles and it is going to allow that lid to be opened from either the driver's side or the passenger side of your vehicle. Give you a few pictures here to show you how that's going to connect to that rod.
You can see it's going to allow the rod to pass through and then we can easily tighten down this bolt up here with a eighth of an inch hex wrench and that will hold that rod in place and allow us to get everything connected.Do want to give you a few measurements, but they are pretty small measurements so you can see on the diagram there, the head is right about 0.62 inches. It is in total about 0.7 inches tall. The overall width of the lower part there is 0.439 of an inch, and the opening of our hole is about 0.27. I did independently verify those measurements with my own digital calipers, so I can tell you that they are accurate and this is going to be a great option for you if you need to reconnect those latches on your toolbox. This was a perfect fit on my UWS box. It actually fits better than the original part that broke.
I was glad to see etrailer carries a complete line of replacement parts for my UWS tool box. I ordered, they shipped, it worked and I am happy.
I overtightened the rod connector and it broke, so I order 2 from etrailer.com and the price is fair and so was the shipping. I ordered an extra one in case I break another.
EZ to install. Had to replace the latch on my son's toolbox. This item was very useful in connecting the linkage rod.
Received my order and a piece of one of the parts was missing. I emailed them and received a prompt message back informing me that another part was being sent and that it was inspected to I sure everything was there.
These were exactly what I needed!
I had a latch fail on a storage box, so I ordered a replacement set. What I failed to realize when I ordered them is that the replacement latches didn't come with the connector for the bar that connects the two latches together, and the ones on the original latches aren't removable.
These installed in just a couple of minutes, and most of that time was looking for the correct Allen key to fit the set screw. Easy as can be!

Product was ordered for my UWS toolbox latch linkage. New part did not fit as is. I had to drill out the hole in my latch assembly for it to fit..
Now all I need to find are the 2 clips that hold the rod up under the front lip. Any suggestions?

Pick up a tool box at yard sale and the connector rod was missy the hold downs. Dis want to spend a bunch of money and yours was a awesome price and fit the holes in the handles and the rod itself

I’m glad I found your store. This is the only place I’ve found these parts which is weird since the handles are sold everywhere. Y’all should expand your sales area to Amazon. So many of the boxes have cheap handles that have to be replaced but the rod clamps can’t be used from the old handles. Just an idea. But thanks just the same.

I had spent hours trying to rig stuff up for these rod connectors, clamos, little U-bolts, etc, because I couldn't find replacement parts...Finally, I found them on your site and they work perfect!! 5 minute repair! Well, took a while but that was due to USPS losing the package.They shipped a 2nd and received pretty fast. The part was quality and did the job perfectly. See picture.thankyou

It was fast shipping and a good price. I ordered 4 of the rod connectors &
received all 4 of them. One of them were missing the set screw. I called up there
