Recommended Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller for a 2023 Jeep Cherokee L W/ "B" Prep Group
Question:
I am purchasing a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with trailer prep group B. Do you know what harness and hitch that I will need? I will need 7 pin with trailer brakes. Thanks Dave

Hey Dave, congrats on your new Jeep! I checked what the "B" prep group is because I am not familiar and it looks like it already comes with a trailer hitch. Or at least that's what makes the most sense since the "B" prep group adds a trailer hitch camera, so you can monitor your trailer connection.
If for some reason it doesn't come with a hitch, the you can use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C96NR but please note that the full size spare that comes with the "B" prep group won't be able to be mounted under the vehicle.
For wiring, you'll first need to add a 4-pin with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C27BR which then you can use # ETBC7 to add a 7-way.
Finally, from here you can add a brake controller, like the Curt Echo Under-Dash Bluetooth Brake Controller # C46GV.
If there is something else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

Trailer Prep Group B only includes the mechanical upgrades required for towing such as Rear load leveling. heavy duty cooling, 180 amp alternator and hitch zoom. No hitch or wiring. I know it surprised me too, but I do need the hitch and wiring. Didn't know if there was a special wiring kit because of the trailer prep. Haven't been able to find anything on it. Thanks for your help. Dave
