Question:
Hello, I am trying to decide on an electronic brake controller for my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500, 6 cyl with trailer tow package. I am using it for my boat trailer which has electric brakes. Should i look at any particular controller or would any of them work for my situation? Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.

The Tekonsha Prodigy brake controllers are known around here as being some of the most reliable brake controllers out there. I recommend going with the P3 # 90195 as it is the only one with an LCD screen which makes it a little easier to use than the others.
To connect this to your 2017 Ram 1500 you will simply need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3024-P. This will plug into the connector which is under your driver's side dash and will keep you from having to do any splicing.
Another great feature about these brake controllers is that they work flawlessly with Electric-Over-Hydraulic brake systems so if you were to ever convert your trailer brakes to hydraulic you wouldn't have to worry about this brake controller being compatible.
I have attached a video of the P3 being installed on a similar Ram for you to follow.
