No Blue Brake Output Wire at Back of 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 to Install a 7-Way Connector

I installed this on my 2002 chevy silverado 1500 today , I got the white, brown, yellow, green, and red wires connected to the right wires on the trucks wiring harness, but I dont know where to connect the blue electric brake wire to as well as the black wire ? the only wire I have left on my trucks wiring harness is a light blue wire that says it is a chmsl wire

It is entirely possible that the blue brake output wire is not run from under the hood to the back of your 2002 Chevy Silverado. This was a common issue even on models that came with a factory tow package.
Check under the hood between the fuse panel and the truck body for a blue wire that has a plug on it. You will need to run a wire from that blue wire to the back of the truck. I recommend using about 25 feet of wire # 10-2-1, sold by the foot. When routing the wire be sure to avoid anything that may pinch or burn the wire such as suspension and exhaust/engine parts.
For the black wire it must be the 12 volt hot lead that is missing. You would use the second wire that is in the 10-2-1 bundle. One end will connect to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540 and the other end will get routed back to the trailer connector and attach to that black wire.
