Our 2,000 lb. trailer axles use both 1" and 1.06" diameter spindles. In order to determine you are receiving the correct hub assembly, you will want to use a digital caliper like part # PTW80157 to ensure you have an exact measurement.
If the spindle on your trailer measures out to be 1" in diameter, then you have a 2,000 lb. axle that uses the L44643 bearing. For a 5 on 4-1/2" hub assembly designed to be used with a 2,000 lb. axle and L44643 bearings, I recommend using the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles part # AKIHUB-545-2-1K in addition to our Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors part # BB1980A.
If the spindle on your trailer measures out to be 1.063" in diameter, then you have a 2,000 lb. axle that uses the L44649 bearing. For a 5 on 4-1/2" hub assembly designed to be used with a 2,000 lb. axle and L44649 bearings, I recommend using Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles part # AKIHUB-545-2-2K with the same Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors part # BB1980A.
I have attached a review on each of these products for you.
