For a 2017 Ram 2500 that has the factory gooseneck trailer hitch the only ball and safety chain loop options feature a removable ball but not one that can fit in the hole upside down. This is because of the design of the hitch itself.

The two options are from Curt # C60618 and Reese # RP30140. The Curt option is more popular option due to the lower cost. Both come with covers to cover the ball hole when not in use. The Reese option includes a little storage bag to help protect the ball when not installed in the hitch. I have included links to videos on both kits for you.
