Question:

need to know the outside dia. of tire to see if it will fit wheel well, I have 23 from front to back, I want a wider tire on the camp trailer for safety. I dont like the 5:30x12 tires Im using now Thanks you

For the Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire and 8 Inch Wheel, # AM3H320, it measures 18.3 inches in diameter and it is 8.9 inches wide. This is going to have a smaller diameter than a 5.30x12 tire and wheel but it will be much wider, up to about 4 inches wider, than your existing wheels and tires. You will need to make sure you have enough clearance for the new size, at least 2 inches or more between the inside side wall and the trailer.

If you do have enough clearance then you will be able to go with the new size provided that the bolt pattern is the same. To help determine bolt pattern, I have provided a link to our FAQ article that explains a couple of methods on determining bolt pattern of a trailer wheel.
