Question:
I have a 2006 Ford F-250 with LoadLifter 5000 part #57212 airbags installed on the outside of the frame. Will the Reese Underbed Rail Kit part #RP30073 work with those airbags?

Expert Reply:
You can install a 5th wheel hitch with your AirLift LoadLifter 5000 air bags but the frame brackets on the 5th wheel installation kit part # RP30073 will interfere with the mounting location on the AirLift part # AL57212. Therefore, it is not compatible with the Reese Under Bed Rail Kit part # RP30073 without further modifications that would void the warranty.
The only 5th wheel option that will enable you to keep your current airbag setup entails the use of our Reese Universal Base Rails part # RP30035. According to AirLift, the AirLift system you currently have installed part # AL57212 will work with this 5th wheel rail kit.
In order to install an under bed rail kit like the Reese Elite Series kit you mentioned, you will have to remove your existing airbags and install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 part # AL57398. These airbags will mount to the bottom side of your frame rail thus allowing for the installation of some 5th wheel under bed rail kits. Then you can use the Companion Underbed Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1108-5W because the mounting location of the frame brackets will not interfere with the mounting location of the airbag brackets. You will also want to consider a compatible hitch such as the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3400-5W for short bed applications and the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3500-5W for long beds.
I have attached an installation video of the Reese Universal Rail Kit on a 2002 F-250 in addition to a review of the B&W Companion for your review.
