Question:
What do you mean by a factory tow package and a non factory tow package in trailer hitch wiring, Hyundai 2014 sante fe limited edition

Expert Reply:
When a vehicle comes with the tow package it means that the manufacturer has already run wiring for a wiring harness. You will either already have a wiring harness on the back of your vehicle or all you will have to do is use a plug-n-play wiring harness to use a 4-Way harness. If a vehicle doesn't come with a tow package then there is usually just a little bit more wiring that has to be run for installation.
If you have the factory tow package on your 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited, then all you will need to do is use the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, part # C56332, and install it to the connectors that are near the rear of your Santa Fe (see attached installation video).
If your Santa Fe did not come with the tow package then you will need to use the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, part # C56184, to give yourself a 4-Way harness. The Curt T-Connector will install by plugging in the connectors behind both the driver and passenger side tail lights, and routing a hot lead to your car battery and install it through the included fuse to the positive terminal on your battery (see attached installation video).
Having a tow package means less time spent installing a wiring harness, but even if you do not have the tow package, the addition of a 4-Way wiring harness is really no huge task.
I have attached an installation video of both of these harnesses being installed on similar 2014 Santa Fes for you to check out.
