Deciding on what kind of stairs to use on your 5th wheel really just depends on how you would rather use them and what you are looking to get out of them.

If you were looking for the easiest to use when it comes to climbing up and down the stairs, then I believe the Econo Porch Trailer Step # EHS-103-R would be very easy. It feels more like conventional steps that everyone is used to so they would feel the most comfortable. These steps have a weight capacity of 350 lbs and the upper landing sits 27-1/2 inches above the ground. This has steps that are 27 inches wide.

The Brophy Scissor Steps # SS04 that you referenced in your question are solid as well but they only feature a 300 lbs weight capacity. A nice add-on for the Brophy stairs is the hand rail, part # AHR4. The nice thing about scissor steps is the versatility that they offer. The Brophy stairs can expand from 31 inches - 40 inches to you don't have to be as careful where you park. These steps are 18 inches wide.

Ultimately the best of both worlds is brought to us by TorkLift. The GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps # TLA8004 use landing gear to help provide more stability, they have a weight capacity of 350 lbs and they have a height that ranges from 32-1/2 inches - 40 inches. These have 22 inch wide steps.

When you measure for height of your stairs you will want to measure from the ground to the floor of your 5th wheel. One thing to note about all of these steps is that the Brophy and Econo Porch have stair solutions that you have to take off of your RV before leaving. The TorkLift stairs will install under your door so that you do not have to worry about finding more space to store them.
