Question:

I want to purchase the easiest to install fifth wheel hitch mounting kit. I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 2500 long box. I have the hitch but no mount .

Expert Reply:

The easiest to install brackets are the Reese # RP56007-53. These are an outboard installation making it easier to access the mounting points. This will reduce the drilling and cut down the install time by half compared to a universal kit. The rails are industry standard so as long as your hitch fits industry rails this kit will work for you.

If your truck has a factory 7-way trailer connector and you'd like to install a wiring harness into your truck's bed to make it easier to connect to your trailer you can use # C56000.
