Question:

since this hitch attaches to the factory prep package and not the goosneck ball can you then use it with the rotating pin box. i have a 2012 f250 short bed and would prefer a smaller foot print in the bed of the truck and already own a companion and i beleave i can buy just the base for the factory prep. i am pulling a 37foot cardinal with a gvwr of 14100lb

Yes, the Replacement Base for B&W Companion Hitch for Ford Super Duty, part # BWRVB3300, will work with your B&W Companion Head Assembly, part # BWRVC3006. Even though a rotating pin box is typically used for a truck bed that is shorter than 6 feet, it will work well with the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. You can install the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit, part # RP30126, on your 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty to use with the Companion if you do not already have the factory prep package.

If your F-250 does not already have a 7-Pole wiring harness installed in the bed, I recommend using the Pollak T-Connector with 7-Pole, part # PK11893-11932, which will allow you to hook your 5th wheel trailer wiring in the bed instead of by your bumper.
