Updated 02/22/2017 | Published 02/21/2017

Question:

Wood boat....18foot double ended....a Norwegian Faering...weighs about 300lbs. Custom trailer....the boat rides on its keel...about 4inch deep. on a 6inch wide trailer bunk. I want to attach the rollers to the bunk for the boat to rest on. To ease handling and launching. which roller...the upright roller of the off set? and how many do I need? The boat keel where it rests is 16 feet. Also, do you have bolts and locking nuts? Thanks

I do have a solution for you, however the CE Smith Spool Roller Assembly # CE32100G aren't wide enough to safely support the boat keel of your 18 foot Norwegian Faering. I recommend something a bit wider like the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly # CE10453G with an 8 inch roller and mounting slots spaced 6 inches apart.

You will want to have one for each cross member on your boat trailer. The only other thing you will need are 1/2" or 7/16" fasteners. I have included a video review of this product for you to look at.

Another option to consider are roller bunks like the CE Smith 5 Ft Long # CE27710. These are channel-style roller bunks to upgrade the current bunks on your boat trailer designed to allow for smoother loading and unloading. You will just need to add Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10003G-4 for attaching the bunks to the frame of your trailer. I have attached a video demonstrating how these work.
