Today we're going to review part #yr510y-5. This is a Yates spool roller for boat trailers. This roller is constructed of a thermal plastic rubber material. It is a non-marking, non-scratching material. It is stronger and more durable than your traditional rubber roller. The material is also softer and more pliable than the polyurethane.
This product is made in the USA. This roller will replace one of your rubber spool rollers on your boat trailer. It does help in the loading and unloading of the boat. This roller will support the keel of the boat as it sits on the trailer and it will help to absorb any road shock as the boat is being towed. We're going to do a few measurements on this for you.
The length is 5 inches and the diameter is 3 inches. This roller is designed to be used on a 5 inch bracket that uses a 5/8 inch diameter shaft. And that should do it for part #yr510y-5.

I ordered this roller for a project, Five Stars for etrailer, one star for the post office. I Placed an Order On: 1/26/26 and the Delivery Date Was On: 2/9/26. It was fun watching this roller go back and forth from state to state.

I’ll start be giving a huge AWESOME JOB TO THE STAFF, for the great service. I ordered the Yates keel and bow rollers to replace all the old black rubber on a stainless steel Boston Whaler trailer that I built for a friend about 18 years ago. The local suppliers didn’t have everything I needed in one place. So I checked online and found etrailer.com and ordered keel rollers, end caps, bow roller with bell ends. Confirmed the order about 3-4 in the morning Hawaii time and learned the order was shipped less that five hours latter. And the box was sitting outside my door two days later. Damn that’s fast, especially to Hawaii. Being a first time buyer , that’s one hell of a first impression. With pricing and shipping can’t be beat. Very much appreciated.

I had watched a video on line that was done by etrailer describing the pros and cons of the various roller materials. I decided to go with the TPR. It was a bit more expensive but I thought it would be worth it.
The roller arrived and I went to put it on and it had a major manufacturing defect in it. The center shaft hole was not centered and at an angle. Essentially, the roller was useless.
I contacted etrailer immediately and sent pics and right away they had a new one on the way. It just arrived and I put it on and it was perfect. Exactly what I had hoped for.

Received them quickly. Looks good. Will have to see if they hold up on my boat slip. The normal rubber ones tear up after several years and the Poly one cut grooves in the pylon. Also great to find a supply of pressure caps since I destroy them or lose then in the lake getting them off to replace rollers. ;)

I bought this thinking it would be softer to protect the boat by better distributing the weight but it is to ridged and has little give to 'envelope?' the keel to help spread the weight out better.

Buying from etrailer is better than trying to find a store that "might" have the products you need. The descriptions on your website are much more informative than what you can find on the shelves in a trailer/towing dept. in a brick and mortar store.
