I reached out to Blue Ox and confirmed that the Blue Ox Base Plate # BX1307 is not a fit for your 2007 Mini Cooper Model S Hardtop. Blue Ox does not have a confirmed fit. I then reached out to Roadmaster and they do have a confirmed fit for your vehicle, # 521877-1. I've attached an installation video for you and recommend using Locktite Threadlocker # LT37420 for this installation.
These base plates are compatible with the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - Motor Home Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-520 and will use safety cables # RM-643. I recommend using a locking pin like # e98882 to secure your investment. If you want to use a Blue Ox Towbar, you can use the adapter # BX88178 to make it compatible with all Blue Ox Tow Bars with the exception of the Rangefinder II. I've attached an adapter table to assist. Blue Ox tow bars come with the safety cables needed.
For your vehicle wiring, I recommend using the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs # RM-155. This will give you a completely independent system all wired into your vehicle. Another option is to use Optronics Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights - 20' Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # TL21RK.
For your supplemental braking system, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR. This is an easy to install and remove option for your 2007 Mini Cooper. I've attached a video of this installation for you. This is a proportional brake controller that has the ability to apply braking pressure in Mini with the same amount of force as you apply them in your motorhome. The remote gives you the ability to see the system working from the cabin of your motorhome with LED display.
You most likely will need a hi-low adapter for this application. I've attached a link to help you determine what you need and have linked the page to those adapters as well.
Let me know if I can help further.
