When you want to find out what ball mount works best for you the first thing you need to do is park both the trailer and the towing vehicle on level ground.

You then need to measure the distance from the top of the trailer hitch receiver opening to the ground. Then measure the distance from the bottom of the trailer coupler to the ground. If the height of the hitch is greater you need a ball mount with a drop. If the coupler height is greater you need a ball mount with a rise.
