Could Curt Taillight Converter Box C59196 be Used to Convert Combined Taillight Circuits to Separate
Published 11/01/2016 >
Question:
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I am looking to make the combination brake/turn signal tail lights separate brake and turn signals. On this truck, there is a clear lens under the brake light that is a reverse light. Im planning on using a C56196, cutting the brake/turn wire, putting it through the converter, and hooking up the turn wire to the reverse light and put a yellow bulb in it. I know its not this products intended use, but do you think it will work? Thanks!

The converter box part # C56196 that you referenced would work well for converting a combined taillight circuit to a separate one. Typically this is used on the trailer side of the wiring but there's no reason you couldn't use it on the vehicle wiring as well.
