How To Determine Parts Needed To Replace Suspension On Tandem Trailer
Updated 10/17/2016 | Published 10/15/2016 >
Question:
I have a 20ft flatbed trailer that needs new suspension. Lots of miles. Worn out. Its a tandem single. Two 6k axles. Do you sell a kit with springs, ubolts, hangers, bolts shackles? Everything but the axles. Also, are slipper better than double eye, and will they have the same wheel base? Thanks

There are a few differences between slipper springs and double-eye leaf springs. Slipper springs normally have a higher weight capacity, and fewer moving parts, but they tend to ride a little rougher than double-eye.
You will need to know the length of the springs you are replacing. Over many years of use they can be stretched up to an inch. Also, it is helpful to know the height from the top-center of the spring to the center of the eye and the length from the center of the eye to the center of the spring.
You can then measure the equalizers and the hanger height and let me know those dimensions and I will be glad to recommend a system that will work for you. I have attached a link to our product page for the kits we offer for tandem trailers.
