Does the Americana Tire and Wheel # AM3H490 Come Already Balanced
Updated 11/02/2010 | Published 10/31/2010 >
Question:
I have been having a hard time finding replacement tires that are not out of round. Most of the carlise tires I have been getting are anywhere from an 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch out of round, which results in one heck of a vibration at various speeds. Are these tires of a good quality and ride true? Can they be balanced before shipped?

Expert Reply:
On any given tire and any given wheel, there is a high and low spot. What manufacturers will try to do is offset the high and low spots on the tire and wheel so that they are somewhat balanced. However, you will still need to have the tires balanced at a local tire shop for the best performance. This includes the tire/wheel combos we sell.
The Americana tires and wheels that we sell, like # AM3H490, are a good quality tire and meet Department of Transportation specifications. The tire and wheel combo you have selected comes with a bias tire with modern tread design for a smoother ride.
It is also important to make sure that you inflate trailer tires to their maximum psi rating for best performance and longer life. The AM3H490 needs to be inflated to 90 psi. I have included a link to a tire FAQ for reference.
