The most economical priced hub we offer is the part # AKIHUB-440-2-1K. Then for the same in a spindle we have the part # TRU94FR.

This setup is for a 2,000 lb axle with a 4 on 4 inch wheel bolt pattern.

I would like to make a homemade spare tire carrier for the back of my jeep Wrangler TJ 1998 I currently have a heavy steel bumper and I’m considering using a trailer spindle and hub wondering if you have any comments on this project

I don't think I'd be concerned about the strength of the spindle and hub for this application - they should hold up fine - but more with how you plan on attaching the spindle to the bumper. Do you plan on simply welding it into place or will you be fabricating some kind of bracket?
