To upgrade to an EZ lube setup will require you to replace your axle or you could just replace the spindle. For a spindle with a 4 bolt mounting plate you would want the part # TRU74FR as it is an ez lube spindle. For a new hub/drum to fit this you would want the part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K or for a idler hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K.
Welding a spindle is not something we recommend most people doing. Most axles have these welded on at the factory with specialized jigs and higher precision welding equipment that what even experienced do-it-yourselfers have.
