During my research for your vehicle, I found that in the owner's manual it states that you should never tow a trailer page #202.
This means that the hitch is intended to transport items like a bike rack or cargo carrier. See page #195 for more information about this.
If you decide to tow anyways you will need a hitch, wiring, a ball mount, and ball to tow a trailer. The Curt hitch # C1118, you were looking at will be a fit for your 2014 Ford Focus. There are ball mounts like # 3593 and balls # 19258 and # 19256 that that fit the 1-1/4 sized hitches. To determine the proper height, see the linked Help Article. The wiring harness you will want for lighting is # 118548.
I have linked all the above parts to this page for your purchasing convenience.
