Replacement Shank for Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar BX7380

Question:
Have a blue ox alpha that is a year old and has about 5000 miles of pulling. The swivel part works just fine .The problem I have is it is hard to get the storage pin into the holder, the pin is getting very sloppy in the hole. Either the pin wearing out or the hole is getting egg shaped. Is there a fix for this?

On the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 the vertical bracket on the shank that accepts the pin when storing the tow bar in the vertical position comes from the factory with an oval slot. My contact at Blue Ox confirmed this is the only bracket ever supplied on that tow bar and it is shown in the linked photo. It is designed to allow the tow bar to lean either towards the driver- or passenger-side when stored.
You can certainly add a tie-down strap or bungee cord to help secure the tow bar when it is in the stored position.
You can also submit a photo or two of the bracket if you wish. This tow bar carries a 3-year warranty. If the problem is the hole in which the pin is installed, then do please send photos. Excessive wear in that mounting hole is unusual and this should for safety reasons be addressed with Blue Ox.
