There's no reason you couldn't install the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons # CE27660 on the front of a boat trailer frame if you wanted to. They can attach to the trailer frame at any point to help guide your boat onto the trailer.

When you set up a set of guide ons like the part #CE27660 you wouldn't want them to contact both sides of the boat at the same time. You would want an inch or two of clearance between the boat and the uprights.
