Question:
Can I still use the CURT Premium Hitch-Mounted Bike Rack #18064 for full size 29 bikes on the narrow portions of the rack? I know its specially designed for smaller kids bikes, but I was wondering if you could still mount full size bikes on them as well? I really like the design of this particular bike rack. My wife and I have mountain bikes and my daughter too 24 inch.

Expert Reply:
The narrow width section of the arms on the Curt bike rack # C18064 are spaced 8 inches apart (outside to outside) so while you could load your bikes there a couple of problems arise.
First, when using a hitch mount bike rack you will want to load the bikes starting with the cradles closest to the vehicle in accordance with the instructions. Second, if you carried the bikes at the ends then they would not be level and one of the wheels would be down low and the other up high. You want the bikes to be level. To get them to fit more level and so you can place them in the proper position I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
