Question:
I have a RV built on a 2016 Ford E450 van chassis. Does etrailer have a harness adapter to plug a Tekonsha brake controller directly into the factory Ford harness under the dash? If not I assume my only option is to completely wire the whole brake controller system in from scratch? It does have a 7 pin receptacle on the hitch already, just need to wire in a brake controller for my open car trailer.

Your 2016 Ford E-450 van chassis/RV will use brake controller wiring harness # 3034-P. Ford only makes this van chassis for the RV and emergency vehicle industries now but the 2016 chassis is the same as the 2014 model year which was the last year it was available to the general public. On the 2016 the factory plug is located behind the coin tray, above the radio, in the center console (see picture).
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. To install the harness locate access panel in the center of dash on passenger side. Using a trim panel puller, # PT73HJ, locate notch in panel and pry the panel out and away from the dash being careful not to damage the trim or panel. Unplug the housings attaching the panel being careful not to damage locking tabs and set aside.
Locate gray housing on the back of the trim panel located directly left of the access panel. Carefully pull the housing towards the access panel and plug in the mating gray housing from the brake control adapter.
