Do Front Wheels Drag on a Vehicle Being Flat Towed
Updated 12/29/2015 | Published 12/28/2015 >
Question:
if i hook up a base plate and lights system can i to the hummer with a F150 or do i need to have a bigger truck to tow it with. I was told that the F150 needs to weigh at least 2/3rds more or else it wont turn because when towing a second vehicle it kinda drags the front wheels and so the to vehicle needs to outweigh the vehicle being towed. Is this true?

You would need to determine the towing capacity of your Ford F-150 to determine whether or not you can flat tow your H2 with it. I would look that up for you but since I do not know the year of your truck and how it is equipped (motor size, rear gear ratio), I can't.
When a vehicle is being flat towed you have to unlock the steering wheel so that when you go around corners the wheels can freely point the direction they need to go. If you are scrubbing the front tires around corners you are doing something wrong. There should be no front wheel dragging.
I attached a help article on flat towing for you to check out as well.
