Replacement Lid Hinge for a Thule Weekender Cargo Box

Question:

I purchased TH14933 for my old Thule Weekender box. Unfortunately, they did not work. The lid will not stay open. Will this strut work for my weekender box

Thule lists replacement dual force strut TH14933 as the correct replacement for the Thule Weekender series of cargo boxes. This is the strut used for many Thule cargo boxes. The only other option is # TH14936 which is not listed as the correct part for the Weekender boxes but would still fit. It has a heavier internal spring making it harder to close so the lid wouldn't fall down under its own weight.
