Could a 2005 Ford F-150 Use a Gooseneck Hitch to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer

Hi, We just bought a 5th wheel that has the gooseneck hitch on it and the guy we bought it from said he prefers it and it leaves his truck bed open but we dont have anything in our truck so we were wondering if we could put the gooseneck set up in our 2005F150supercrew cab with a 5.3 engine and if it would be the better option? The 5th wheel is 28ft long and the weight isnt an issue. We would appreciate any advice. Thanks,

The big issue is going to be the length of the bed on your truck. If you have a long bed truck then sticking with the gooseneck would be just fine. If you have a short bed you would need to go with a fifth wheel hitch setup since there are slider hitches available that will allow you to make tight turns without cab interference.
For a gooseneck hitch for if you have a long bed you would want the part # C60721. This would be all that you need.
If you have a short bed you would instead need a fifth wheel rail kit like part # RP50081-58 and a slider hitch like part # RP30075. You would then also need to remove the fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter you have on your trailer as well.
