Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Lights That Illuminate when 7-Way is Plugged In

Question:
2005 GMC Sierra 1500 came with factory tow package. When I plug in my 7 pin into my truck the brake lights come on both truck n camper

You have trailer wiring circuits that are shorting out on either your truck or trailer to the stop turn circuits. Most likely it is the 12 volt power circuit shorting to the brake/turn circuits.
You will want to check out the wiring on both your truck and trailer looking for any exposed wire that could be causing the short and fix as necessary.
