Question:
I need fenders to replace metal ones that broke off a long time ago. I think the tires are 13 inch. My father-in-law left the trailer to me. I believe the trailer is from the late 70s or early 80s. Spartan is out of business and I have not been able to find a description or specifications. The biggest challenge is finding hardware for attaching the fenders to the trailer. I am at the point of just ordering plastic fenders and hardware and hope I can make them fit. Do you have suggestions on replacement fenders and hardware to attach them?

If you are wanting a metal fender and you can verify your tires are 13 inch or 14 inch I recommend the Single Axle Trailer Fender w/ Backing, part # HP79VR. This fender is constructed of 16 gauge steel and will mount to your trailer after you drill some mounting holes. We do not offer mounting hardware for these, but you shouldn't have any problem finding what you need at a local hardware store.
The dimensions of this fender are 7-3/4 inches wide x 28 inches long x 10 inches tall.
If you prefer the plastic fenders, part # PF11X35W-2 you came from would work for 13 - 15 inch wheels. These come with the mounting brackets and may work well for you. These are step fenders and have a weight capacity of 200 lbs.

I just bought a trailer from a guy that was parting out his boat. It is a Spartan boat trailer. I have a Lund that is 17 1/2 feet long and trying to figure if it will be held up by this Trailor. Rating is 1750 pounds. It is a 17 foot trailer that had an Alumacraft on it. I’m looking at the axle which is a bent axle so I’m guessing that only bearings with no axle? Is it heavy duty enough for my boat? I know you probably don’t know but the reason I actually was contacting you is that I didn’t notice when I bought it that the fenders were broke and plastic I don’t understand plastic fenders unless you are never supposed to use them to get in a boat or load the boat, but I will probably want some replacements. I would rather have steel if they have replacements with steel that would fit. I can get all the numbers and everything for you. It is a SR160 model. I’m not sure if it’s heavy duty trailer or not any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
