Video Transcript for Single Axle Trailer Fenders w Mounting Brackets: The Breakdown

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the plastic single axle trailer fender with top and side steps. Now, fenders are going to cover tires on your trailer. They act as a splash guard which is going to help keep road debris from hitting other vehicles. It's going to help protect your trailer's cargo. This one's going to be designed for single axle trailers. It works great for marine applications.

It's constructed of a nice, durable, white plastic construction. It's going to feature a corrosion and impact resistant design. As you can see, the unit provides three steps. You're going to have one step on top, and then you're going to have one for the front, and one for the rear. Really nice design, the unit's going to feature weight capacity at around 200 lbs. Each step does have a tread surface which is going to increase the amount of grip that it provides.

It's going to add grip and it's going to increase safety. The unit does require two installation brackets. Those items are sold separately, they can found here at etrailer.com. The part number for the bracket, and you'll need two of them, is PF1135-DKT. Then if you use -2, you can buy two at the same time. If we flip it over, you'll notice that it does have the holes right here for the brackets. The holes are pre-drilled.

Now these holes are going to be separated on center apart from one another by 5 5/8 of an inch. The product is made right here in the USA. This is designed for 13 to 15 inch wheel and tire assemblies on single axle trailers. To give you a better idea of what it will fit, what we can do is we can take a measurement. You can see here that the bracket area has a flat side.

I'm going to take a measurement from bracket location to bracket location or mount surface to mount surface. We can see that that's going to give us a measurement of 32 3/4 of an inch wide. Right up here, where the curvature of the fender comes to a stop, if we measure from there to the same point on the other side . That's going to give a measurement of about 31 1/2 to 31 3/4 of an inch. That's going to be kind of that inner dynamic diameter at the widest point. Now when it comes to the overall dimensions of the fender itself . The overall length from edge to edge is going to measure 45 inches long, that's measuring from this point right here to the same point on the other side. When it comes to the height . It's going to measure around 13 inches tall, and I also took a measurement from the back of the skirt right here to the outermost point right here in the center. That gave us a measurement of around 11 5/16 of an inch wide. Now when it comes to the surfacing of the steps, the ones on the sides. Those are going to give us a measurement from front to back around 11 inches. Then a width measurement of about 6 inches, it's going to be the same on each side. The one here on top is going to measure about 6 inches wide by 7 inches deep. Then again it does have the skirt here on the back. That's that solid piece here on the backside of the fender. That's going to do it for today's look at the plastic single axil trailer fender, with the top and side steps.

I wish I could have found a fender for a double axle trailer but with modifications I was able to make this one work easy enough. The integrity supports underneath were placed properly so I was able to cut the toe off without sacrificing structural integrity. Looks like the same company made it as made the Ventura double axle fenders, just put a longer toe on one side, easy fix with a chop saw. Works perfect and looks great.

These fenders were a perfect fit! Fast delivery. Excellent customer service! I do hope they work on better packing for large items. The first delivery came with cosmetic damage from how it was packaged. Nonetheless, they took care of it and send me a replacement within a couple days. I was very impressed.
Thank you!

Great Customer service and support but the product is terrible. In less than one year, both the left and right fenders became brittle and cracked when stepped on. At this price point, I expected a durable product that lasted multiple years. Originally, these fenders appeared soft, flexing somewhat on warm days. I would only step on the side steps and not the top. But to get in the boat, you have to eventually step in the center of the fender. Of note, I never used the trailer to launch the boat as it was under repair. So no water impacts. Also, the boat is located in Key West so freezing is not an issue. The trailer was in a shaded area and not in direct sun. Attached are photos of the cracking and brittleness. Please note that the team at etrailer.com are outstanding and very helpful and supportive. This poor product is not a reflection on their company or staff. I rate them 5 stars! I highly recommend purchasing through etrailer.com. Please call them directly with any questions or recommendations.

I have a 2000 Capri trailer with 13' tires. These new fenders fit after I took off the old brackets and put on the new ones with U-bolts. I had to mount the brackets on the top of the trailer rail, and so the fenders are a little high, but it worked. Fair price, sturdy steps. I also ordered two yellow, LED clearance lights and easily drilled them into the fenders. Now all we need to some water and warm weather!

by:

The shipping department shipped these to me with the expedited shipping, even though I choose the longer method. Great crew. Got fenders and the brackets installed in 1 hour. Only modification I had to do was notch out back of fenders about 1 inch to clear spring bracket. First thing I did after installation was stand on ends. No problems. Nice and sturdy. My weight is 215lbs. I did stand on the center step, it did support me, but I would not use this as a step. I would say anyone less than 180lbs would be ok. This is a flexable type of plastic fender so I wouldn't worry about it cracking. It is also very thick. Nice product and no rust to worry about. 13" tires on trailer. Larger will work fine as well.

The Redline fender kit with mounting brackets is a great product and installs easily with galvanized hardware. Having the mounting brackets included is very convenient since it’s difficult to find the proper brackets for all applications. Great shipping, great product and terrific people that communicate to work with, thanks etrailer!!

by:

They fit perfectly on my 02 Escort trailer with the brackets that were already on there. No new drilling required. I lucked out picking these after going over the measurements with a rep on the phone and comparing them to my current fenders. They matched up really well and turns out the holes did too.

by:

The fenders are everything advertised. They arrived when promised in decent condition. They appear that they will accomplish getting fenders on my sailboat trailer that will not break off the brackets. My 2007 MagicTilt trailer came to me with extremely heavy galvanized fenders. PO had replaced two out of the 4 brackets. On the way to Florida, from Illinois, I lost another and then 2 on the way home. I had to get rid of the system, talked to a trailer guy who said get some plastic fenders from etrailer with decent brackets and you will be good to go. I will send a pic once they are installed. Thanks

by:

Got my fenders on a very short amount of time. I did not notice that these fenders came with mounting brackets which I did not need. Return shipping is expensive.

by:

Beautiful looking exact match for my boat trailer. Wears well and stays white. Only draw back. Living in Southern California it can get very hot. On hot days the fender softens and bends from my weight. It has not cracked, but I have to be careful where I put my weight. Side steps are fine because they are braced from the underside but the top of the fender folds downward. I weigh 180 pounds.

by:

I have a 1999 Escort boat trailer for my 2000 18.5 ft. Bayliner boat. The white single axle fenders had finally wore out on the trailer. I started researching fenders on the internet and finally found the redline 13 to 15 inch fenders on etrailer that had the same dimensions as my old ones. I ordered them from etrailer. They were shipped and delivered in less than a week. Great service. After comparing them to my old fenders I found they were identical. I could even use my old mounting brackets. It took me less than an hour to remove the old fenders and install the new ones, perfect fit. Thanks etrailer, I would highly recommend your company, and would use you again.

by:

These were just like the factory fenders that I replaced. I did have to cut out holes for the marker lights on the trailer which was no big deal. The only issue I have with fenders is the weak spot at the top of them. If used to get into the boat they tend to bend and are not very supportive.

by:

The fenders I received fit very well. Just like the originals. I didn't even have to replace the original mounting brackets. Took about 30 minutes and was completely finished. Completely satisfied with product.

by:

All the items worked great and got my trailer working and looking good. Yes these are plastic but when installed correctly they are holding up very well. I weigh 240lbs. I'm very happy with the product and service.

by:

Fenders were just as described, fit my 1999 Bayliner trailer just right, and give a firm foothold for climbing in.

by:

Arrived very quickly, in perfect condit ion

by:

Great ordering experience. Clear product descriptions helped ensure accuracy. Product arrived on time and in good condition. I recommend using a box-cutter for cutting out reflector holes in fenders. A Dremel tends to melt as it cuts.

by:

I really found the pics and video reviews helpful when I was ordering...I was able find an exact fit.

by:

Good service received promptly, order was correct, fit perfect.
Would shop this sight again.

  • Replacement Plastic Fender Options For ShoreLand'r Boat Trailer With Single Axle and 14" Tall Wheels
To determine what fenders will fit best on your ShoreLand'r boat trailer I will need to have some pictures of your mounting brackets along with the distance between the brackets. This will help me to determine which of the fender sets below would work best as they are designed to fit on different brackets. The measurement will also help me to determine if the trailer uses fenders designed to only fit with 14" wheels and tires or also will allow for 15" wheels and tires. CE Smith Single...

The best match we have to what you described is the Plastic, Single-Axle Trailer Fender w/ Top and Side Steps # PF11X35W, but since this is only currently available in white I recommend getting the set as part # PF11X35W-2 so you can have both sides of your trailer matching. The only white fenders we have that will fit your 15" wheels are the # PF11X35W-2.
