Marine Jack Recommendation to Replace Fulton Magnum Boat Trailer Jack
Updated 06/29/2015 | Published 06/25/2015 >
Question:
I need to replace or rebuild a 2004 Fulton Magnum #3000 boat trailer jack. The down tube is rusting out. I cant find the exact jack, I can send you a picture if that helps. The jack has a 3 hole horizontal mounting flange. The jack is 14.5 inches above the flange and 7 inches below. The 2 inch down tube extends 12 inches and has a removable wheel. The crank shaft is horizontal. I could also rebuild the jack if the parts are available. Thanks in advance.

I spoke to my contact at Fulton and he informed me the Fulton Magnum series jacks were an older line of jacks that had capacities of over 1,000 lbs and have been discontinued, so you will not be able to find the exact jack. However, I have linked to a page that shows our Fulton marine jacks with a 2-inch outer tube width.
Take a look at the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack with Dual Wheels # FXPD15L that offers a 1500-lbs and 12-inch lift capacity. It does not have a 3000 lbs capacity but a jack will never have to bear anything near the total actual combined boat/trailer weight of 3000-lbs. Boat trailers typically have a fairly low tongue weight - as a percentage of the trailer's total weight (See linked FAQ article). Since most of the hull weight as well as that of the outboard motor and fuel tanks are concentrated at the rear of the trailer, TW may be as low as 10-percent. If you want, you can measure your trailer tongue weight using a scale like the etrailer # e99044 or by one of the methods outlined in the linked article.
Parts are no longer available for the old Fulton Magnum jacks unless it is one of the following jack models: TJ503/C, TJU503, PMJ53, TJ507/C, PMJ75, CS750, GR700/TJ712, XP10/6/W/WC and XP100. Then you would use # F0933302S00.
We no longer carry the parts of the TJ1055, TJ1057, TJ1222, TJ1255, TJD125, TJ122F, XP15/L/W/WC or XPF15L.
