Question:
Hi, have a 2015 Toyota Landcruiser that I wish to use a wiring harness to allow my tekonsha p3 brake controller to swap to another vehicle. Ive checked under the dash of the Landcruiser and the only obvius connector see pic I can find looks different from the one you recommended for this purpose on your on your website, which I understood to be code 3040-P. Please could you confirm what type I need from you with this information. Thanks for such a comprehensive website!

The connector you sent in a picture of is not the brake controller port. You would want to look for the female style plug that would match the connector in the picture I submitted.
We have had customers state that the location of the brake controller port on the Toyota Land Cruiser is under the dash behind the switches for the mirror. You will need to take apart the lower dash panel and then push out the switch panel. There is no need to detach any switch, it all hangs out just fine according to one customer. I have included the pictures they sent to us.
The correct harness to use to install the P3 # 90195 would be the # 3040-P.
